David Adams, tenor, has performed on the international circuit, and his singing has been described in Opera News as ‘light and flexible, yet fiery and expressive.’ On the American operatic scene, he has performed with companies including the Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Opera, the Santa Fe Opera, and has made important debuts at both Avery Fisher Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York City. With the Kansas City Chorale, Mr. Adams was featured as the Celebrant on the critically acclaimed 1996 Rachmaninov recording. Upcoming engagements include performances of Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Die Zauberflote, and recitals in Kansas City and Philadelphia. |

Matthew Gladden is enjoying his second year as a tenor with the Kansas City Chorale. Mr. Gladden graduated from William Jewell College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Vocal Performance. He has performed in New York City, Phoenix, England, and Scotland.

Grady Sullivan, tenor, is one of the Kansas City Chorale’s newest members. Earlier this year Grady also joined the Kansas City Symphony Chorus and is conducted by Charles in both choruses. Grady recently graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Finance and Chemistry, and was a director of Rock Chalk Revue from 2006 to 2007. Grady lives in the Hyde Park area of Kansas City and works downtown at the Bristol Seafood Grill. He also enjoys playing blues piano when he gets the chance.

This is tenor Frank Fleschner's fourth season with the Kansas City Chorale. Frank graduated from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music. He performed throughout his college career with the university's most select ensembles and with their large, oratorio-sized chorus. In the fall of 2004, Frank was a tenor soloist at a Truman State concert of Handel's Messiah. During the day, he enjoys a career that allows him to work with his other great passion, Macintosh computers.

Alan Murray, tenor, holds degrees in Vocal Performance/Pedagogy from New Mexico State and Arizona State University. Alan sang with The Phoenix Bach Choir (now known as The Phoenix Chorale) for two seasons, and has been a member of the Kansas City Chorale since 2003. Alan is Adjunct Associate Professor of Music & Voice at Johnson County Community College and Director of Music/Emerging Ministries at Asbury United Methodist Church in Prairie Village.

Chris Munce, a Kansas City native, has been involved in local choral ensembles for almost two decades. Chris is an accomplished choral performer, and member of Kansas City Chorale and Armonia Early Music Ensemble. He spent two years with the Lee's Summit Community Boys choir as a treble, and was a tenor section leader at Unity Temple on the Plaza from 1999-2007. Chris received a Bachelor's of Music Education from the UMKC Conservatory of Music. During his tenure he spent three years singing in Heritage Chorale under the direction of Dr. Eph Ely and Dr. Charles Robinson and four years studying voice with Professor Michael Cousins. Following graduation Chris became the Director of Choirs at Belton High School, after which he began study for his Master' Degree in Choral Conducting at the Conservatory. During that time he served as adjunct faculty at the Conservatory teaching choral arranging, and at Blue River Community College as a professor of voice. Chris is now teaching at Lee's Summit High School as the Associate Director of Choral Music. He has been an active private voice instructor since 1999 and is currently teaching at the Music-Arts Institute in Independence. |
